Being more visible on social media and in your marketing is a great way for you to take charge of promoting your book to more people and build your audience.

But what if you don’t know what to say? Or the thought of being visible is really uncomfortable?

This is the course for you.

Does this sound like you? ⬇️

You know you need to be more visible and active on social media, or have a blog or email to promote yourself and your book(s) but the thought of that is very uncomfortable, toe curling even.

Maybe you’re a private person, or have been brought up to not talk about yourself very much, so the idea of being really visible on social media feels so far out of your comfort zone. Who will people think you are if you start talking about your book all the time?

This feeling is really common - a lot, if not most, of the authors I work with come to me with the worry that ‘They don’t want to be salesy’.

Do you feel that you have no idea of what you would say, or how to sustain a steady flow of content ideas?

Does the whole idea of getting more visible just make you feel overwhelmed and like hiding?

I get it, it can feel really uncomfortable getting visible, putting yourself out there and talking about your book. But you’ve written your book for a reason, for people to read it, to give to others, potentially for it even to help people.

If no one knows it exists how will they find it?

If you’re not visible how will they know about you?

You know that social media and being visible in your marketing will make a difference to your book. You know that now is the time to step into it even though it makes you feel uncomfortable. You’re ready to think about what type of content to share to grow your audience and you’re ready to push past those mindset blocks that have so far stopped you really going for it.

I’m so glad you’re here as that is exactly why I’ve created this course.

This course is designed to help you understand and move past all those fears and worries and step confidently into creating and sharing content you feel really good about and that will promote you and your book and build your connection with your readers.

Introducing

The Visible Author

A four week course to get you feeling confident creating

and sharing marketing content.

This course is going to give you two key things:

1. It’s going to help you identify what’s behind your fears and learn lots of ways of how to manage them so you move forward with confidence.

2. I’m going to show how to create marketing content for your social media and other places that feel aligned to you and your book and that you feel confident creating and sharing with your audience. You’ll leave with lots of inspiration and direction for your content.

What it will include:

Week One:  Getting past the fear to be visible

Determining your positioning and core messages

Week Two:  Understanding your target audience

Deciding which areas of content will resonate with your readers

How to build your confidence when getting visible feels scary

Week Three: Creating content - Tips, useful tools, what makes great content,

how to get inspiration when you’re stuck

Mindset challenges that might come up when you start to

become visible and how to ensure they don’t derail you

Week Four:  Creating healthy boundaries

How to measure if what you’re doing is working

                       Evergreen and publication content strategies

The course is delivered through a combination of videos and written content as well as a weekly online training session with me via Zoom. There will also be a Facebook group for you to meet other authors going through this process so you can swap ideas and support each other.

The investment:

The investment for the course is £295.

This is the first time I have run this course and as such the price is a special beta offer in return for feedback on the course.

This is for you if:

You are ready to get visible in your marketing and banish those fears.

You want to create social media posts and marketing content that will resonate with your target audience.

You want practical tips and guidance for how to push past your fears and build your confidence.

You are ready to take responsibility for your own marketing.

This is not for you if:

You are looking for tactical and specific advice for individual social media channels. What I teach will give you the framework and base for being active on any of the channels you choose but it won’t give you in depth, specific tactics for individual channels.

You don’t have time to devote to creating content to engage with your audience.

You are looking for someone to do your marketing on your behalf.

Who am I?

I am a Marketing Mentor and Mindset and Confidence Coach for authors.

I’ve worked in the marketing departments of some of the biggest trade publishers on all sorts of authors, many household and bestselling names as well as debut authors.

I now work directly with authors, both traditionally and self published, guiding them through how to promote themselves more effectively, particularly on social media.

I am an accredited coach and passionate about helping authors through mindset challenges they may have such as a fear of judgement, procrastination and overwhelm and self doubt.

Being visible in my marketing is essential for me to promote my business, years ago I couldn’t have imagined putting my face everywhere or going live to talk to people on social media but now I do it with (relative) ease. I even posted a photo of me in a swimming costume swimming in the sea which is definitely not something I would have thought I would be able to do!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the live calls be recorded?

Yes, everything will be recorded and you’ll have access to them and all the course materials forever (or for as long as I have access to the platform and providing the Internet doesn’t fall over).

My book isn’t being published until the end of the year, is this right for me?

Absolutely! I believe that the sooner you start talking to your audience and building connections with people the better, take your audience on the journey to the book being published.

I’m already active on social media is this right for me?

Yes, if you feel a lack of inspiration, find it hard to be consistent and wonder if what you’re putting out is effective for you, then this is a good opportunity to take a fresh look at what you’re doing.

Can you give me 1:1 feedback on my channels or content?

Of course I will answer your questions as they come up in the Facebook group, and there will be Q&A elements to the weekly calls, but I won’t be able to give detailed feedback on everyone’s work.

Will I be able to meet other authors?

Yes, there’s a Facebook group where you can meet the other people taking the course. You’ll meet new friends, get peer support and have accountability that will move you forward. You will be encouraged to share in the group so that you can learn from each other.

Will you teach me how to use TikTok/ Instagram/ email marketing/ any other channel?

No, it’s not possible for me to go in depth into the intricacies of the different social media channels. What I teach on this course is a great foundation for any of the channels you decide to focus on. If you would like more detailed support on a particular channel I do offer 121 Marketing Mentoring as a separate service.

What’s the time commitment?

It would be great if you can make it live to the weekly sessions or at least find the time to watch the replay. I suggest that ideally you want to set aside an hour or so a week, in addition to the call, to go through the modules and set tasks. This will be good practice for setting aside time each week to create marketing content after the course!

When does the course start?

The course starts on Monday 30th January and our first live call is Thursday 2nd February at 12 GMT.

I’ve got a question that you’ve not included here

That’s fine, please send me an email [email protected] and I can answer it for you.
